On Tuesday night in the House chamber, Rep. Ilhan Omar made headlines for all the wrong reasons. As a grieving mother sat in the gallery, mourning the loss her daughter suffered at the hands of a repeat offender, Omar stood and shouted directly at President Trump.
Trump had just honored Anna Zarutska, whose daughter was tragically killed on a Charlotte train by a career criminal Democrats allowed to walk free twelve times. Yet, the Democrats in attendance could not summon the decency to rise.
Stephen A. Smith Calls Out Democrats’ Failures
Even non-conservatives were stunned. On Wednesday morning, ESPN host Stephen A. Smith analyzed the Democrats’ behavior at the State of the Union. “The man has been playing y’all like a fiddle for 11 years,” Smith declared.
He didn’t stop there. “He set you up! He knew you weren’t going to stand. He knew 73 of y’all were going to show up to other places and not show up to the State of the Union,” Smith said on his SiriusXM show Straight Shooter.
A Democrat openly acknowledging this on the record is news in itself.
