Karoline Leavitt Forces Dems Into an Awkward Spot

>> Continued From the Previous Page <<

The refusal to applaud declining murder rates alone should have shocked the conscience. Americans from every background benefit when violent crime falls. But Democrats’ silence suggested that political resentment now outweighs concern for human life. It reinforced a growing belief among voters that today’s Democratic Party is driven less by principle and more by opposition—no matter the cost.

Leavitt’s post was a response to a video clip shared by CNN reporter Kaitlan Collins, who summarized the moment during the president’s speech.

“Trump on Democrats not standing up during what he believes should be applause lines during his speech: ‘These people are crazy, I’m telling you. They’re crazy,’” Collins wrote.

One of the moments Trump clearly believed transcended party politics involved parental rights—an issue that polls show resonates strongly with families nationwide.

“No state can be allowed to rip children from their parents’ arms and transition them to a new gender against the parents’ will,” the president said during his speech.

Republicans stood immediately and applauded. Democrats did not move.

“Look — nobody stands up,” Trump said, pointing at the Democrats. “These people are crazy, I’m telling you. They’re crazy.”

But the silence did not end there. On its official website, the White House later released an expanded list detailing additional moments Democrats refused to acknowledge. What followed was arguably even more disturbing.

Among the most chilling examples was Democrats’ refusal to recognize the grieving mother of Iryna Zarutska, a 23-year-old Ukrainian refugee killed in August 2025. Zarutska was allegedly stabbed on a train in Charlotte, North Carolina, by a repeat offender—another violent crime occurring in a city governed by progressive policies that consistently prioritize criminals over law-abiding citizens.

Democrats also refused to stand for the principle that American citizens should come first—a foundational idea that once united leaders across party lines.

At this point, voters are left asking uncomfortable questions. Is this indifference? Arrogance? Or confidence that friendly media outlets will run interference and shield Democrats from accountability?

Whatever the explanation, one conclusion is unavoidable: this behavior is not normal, and it is not healthy for a functioning republic. While the radical base may cheer this kind of political theater, everyday Americans—parents, workers, and taxpayers—deserve leaders capable of basic human decency.

And increasingly, voters are taking notice.
