Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer found himself at the center of renewed scrutiny this week after an off-script response to a reporter reignited public outrage over the still-secret files connected to the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. What was meant to be a political jab at Republicans instead highlighted a question many Americans have been asking for years — and one Democrats have struggled to answer.
During a press interaction, a reporter directly challenged Schumer on why the Epstein documents were never released while Democrats controlled the White House.
“Why wouldn’t they have been released the last four years when President Biden was in office?” a reporter asked Schumer.
Rather than offering a clear explanation, Schumer appeared to stumble before redirecting blame toward former President Donald Trump.
