Trump’s Chilling Message to Nancy Guthrie’s Kidnappers

President Donald Trump is calling for the “most severe” federal punishment for anyone responsible for the kidnapping of 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie, the mother of “Today” show co-host Savannah Guthrie. In an interview with the New York Post on Monday, Trump left little doubt about his stance.

“If she’s killed, I want the Justice Department to go for the most severe punishment,” Trump said. When asked directly whether he meant the death penalty, he responded plainly: “The most, yeah — that’s true.”

The comments come as authorities intensify their investigation into Guthrie’s mysterious disappearance. Officials believe she was abducted from her Tucson residence between the night of Jan. 31 and the early hours of Feb. 1. Law enforcement agencies are leaving no stone unturned in the search.
