A man detained by Arizona authorities in connection with Nancy Guthrie’s mysterious disappearance is speaking out after being released, claiming he was wrongfully held and left in confusion for hours.
The man, who identified himself only as “Carlos,” was stopped south of Tucson on Tuesday afternoon and remained in custody under the Pima County Sheriff’s Department until midnight. Police confirmed the detention during a traffic stop, saying it was part of the ongoing investigation into Guthrie’s disappearance.
Authorities also revealed they were preparing to search a location tied to Carlos, which he said was his “in-laws’ house.”
Just after midnight, Carlos spoke with reporter Ford Hatchett, insisting he had never heard of Nancy Guthrie before being detained. Initially reluctant to speak, he later returned to answer questions about the ordeal.
