Last week, the league unveiled the uniform combinations for Super Bowl LX. Before a single snap was played, critics on the left were already spiraling over one small detail stitched onto the jerseys.

NFL fans went ballistic over patriotic patches the moment they saw them on Super Bowl uniforms.

America 250 celebration sparks outrage on cue

Both the New England Patriots and the Seattle Seahawks revealed their Super Bowl looks with a new addition on the right shoulder. Each jersey features a red, white, and blue “USA 250” patch commemorating the United States’ upcoming 250th anniversary.

The patch sits beside the standard Super Bowl logo and is part of a larger nationwide effort to recognize the country’s semiquincentennial in 2026.

What should have been a straightforward nod to American history immediately became controversial for one reason only.
