The standoff between Minnesota Democrats and the Trump administration has officially reached a breaking point.

After months of warnings, negotiations, and formal findings, the federal government has referred Minnesota to the Department of Justice for refusing to comply with Title IX protections for girls’ sports.
The move follows Governor Tim Walz openly defending policies that allow biological males to compete in female athletic programs, even as female athletes across the state lose championships, scholarships, and fair competition.
President Donald Trump had given Minnesota multiple opportunities to resolve the dispute voluntarily. State leaders declined every one.
Now federal enforcement is underway.
HHS And Education Department End Negotiations
Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Education Secretary Linda McMahon jointly announced that Minnesota has been referred to the Department of Justice for enforcement proceedings.
