For nearly four years, Democrats relentlessly pushed the claim that Donald Trump stole the 2016 election with help from Russia. The narrative dominated cable news, fueled congressional investigations, and was treated as gospel inside the Democratic Party—even after it collapsed under scrutiny.
Now, with the 2026 midterm elections approaching, Democrats appear to be dusting off that same strategy once again.
This time, the focus isn’t Russia. Instead, the allegation is broader, more vague, and just as dangerous: that President Trump will somehow interfere with upcoming elections, despite no evidence and no votes having been cast.
That claim is now being promoted openly by Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer.
