For years, Democrats mocked Americans who warned that dismantling law enforcement would end in disaster. “Defund the police,” they insisted, was enlightened policy. Letting repeat offenders walk free without bail, they claimed, was compassionate reform. When violent crime surged, they waved it away as coincidence and scolded anyone who dared connect the dots.

But hard data has finally crushed that narrative.

New crime statistics show what millions of Americans already understood through lived experience: progressive crime policies failed catastrophically, and restoring law and order works.

According to recent FBI crime data, the United States has now recorded the lowest murder rate since 1900. That historic drop didn’t happen by accident. It followed a decisive shift back toward enforcement, accountability, and consequences—policies championed by President Donald Trump.

The Council on Criminal Justice examined crime trends across 40 major U.S. cities and found that homicides plunged 21 percent in 2025 alone. This marked the sharpest one-year decline on record and capped four consecutive years of falling murder rates nationwide.
