Michael Cohen, once one of President Donald Trump’s closest legal confidants, has now dropped a stunning accusation that cuts straight to the heart of New York’s long running legal war against the former president.
In a lengthy Substack post published Friday, Cohen alleged that prosecutors working for New York Attorney General Letitia James and Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg pressured and coerced him into giving testimony designed to damage Donald Trump and secure convictions against him.
The claim is especially explosive given Cohen’s central role in both the civil and criminal cases brought against Trump and his businesses. Cohen was a star witness for the prosecution, repeatedly portrayed as an insider who could deliver the final blow to Trump’s defense.
Now, Cohen says the entire process was driven by politics, not justice.
According to Cohen, his interactions with prosecutors followed a consistent and troubling pattern. From the very beginning, he says investigators were not interested in hearing the full truth, only testimony that advanced a preselected outcome.
