The timing of Walz’s public encouragement of street protests has raised serious questions in Washington.
Federal investigators are now digging into what auditors say could amount to billions of dollars in fraudulent welfare payments that occurred under Walz’s leadership. House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer recently expanded his probe after auditors uncovered evidence that Minnesota DHS employees systematically backdated documents and fabricated records to mislead investigators.
As these investigations accelerate, Walz and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey have escalated their rhetoric against ICE, portraying federal enforcement operations as an “occupation” and demanding agents leave the state altogether.
The results were immediate and violent.
On Wednesday night, rioters destroyed and looted multiple ICE and FBI vehicles after agents were forced to abandon them. Social media videos showed mobs swarming the vehicles and stealing tactical gear, laptops, and personal information belonging to federal officers.
Sensitive federal documents, including arrest warrants and intelligence materials, were scattered across the streets.
“Agents gear, laptops, and personal information now LITTERS the street,” posted Nick Sortor. “THIS IS ABSOLUTE ANARCHY.”
Another video captured protesters reading arrest warrants and intelligence papers aloud using their phone lights, after forcing agents to flee the scene.
The Department of Homeland Security placed the blame squarely on Minnesota’s leadership.
“This attack on another brave member of law enforcement took place while Minnesota’s top leaders, Governor Walz and Mayor Frey, are actively encouraging an organized resistance to ICE and federal law enforcement officers,” DHS stated.
Federal officials say assaults on ICE officers have surged by more than 1,300 percent as agents attempt to arrest criminal illegal aliens.
The chaos prompted a sharp response from President Donald Trump, who issued a blunt warning early Thursday morning.
“If the corrupt politicians of Minnesota don’t obey the law and stop the professional agitators and insurrectionists from attacking the Patriots of I.C.E., who are only trying to do their job, I will institute the INSURRECTION ACT, which many Presidents have done before me, and quickly put an end to the travesty that is taking place in that once great State,” Trump posted to Truth Social.
Trump’s warning followed a week of increasingly hostile language from Walz, who publicly demanded federal authorities leave Minnesota.
“End this occupation,” Walz demanded just hours before Wednesday’s shooting.
Mayor Frey went even further, telling ICE agents to “get the f*** out” of Minneapolis.
Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem labeled the situation intolerable and warned that federal authority would not be undermined.
Meanwhile, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent announced targeted actions aimed at cutting off fraud funding pipelines in the region.
“The IRS Criminal Investigations division has been dispatched to focus on the Minneapolis region to identify fraudulent use of public assistance services, combined with the abuse of federal taxpayer funds,” Bessent stated during a Fox News interview.
Federal prosecutors have already charged more than 90 individuals in schemes involving child nutrition programs, autism treatment services, housing assistance, and Medicaid fraud. Some of the cases trace back more than a decade.
House Oversight testimony revealed Minnesota DHS officials were aware of the fraud as early as 2011. When Walz ran for office in 2018, investigators say he refused to intervene.
The state legislative auditor described a “systemic effort” by DHS employees to backdate documents and fabricate records during audits. One grant manager approved $672,000 for a single month of work before leaving the agency and immediately accepting a paid consulting position with the same grantee.
Whistleblowers have since alleged that DHS deleted data and withheld records in an effort to conceal the scale of the fraud.
Now, as federal agents move in, Walz appears to be turning to street unrest as a political shield.
The pattern is unmistakable.
As investigations intensify, chaos follows. And as the streets burn, the corruption they are meant to distract from continues to surface.

Walz and Frey need to be arrested and charged with many violations and spend the rest of their life in jail.
They both are the Scum of the Earth figuring they would fool everybody including the White House but it has caught up with them. If you do the crime you do the time and they both need to do the time for the rest of their life. No Exceptions!
