Zohran Mamdani MELTS DOWN After ICE Arrest

>> Continued From the Previous Page <<

Within hours of the arrest, Mamdani rushed to social media, denouncing ICE and calling the enforcement action “an assault on our democracy.”

That claim raised eyebrows across the political spectrum, especially given Mamdani’s open affiliation with the Democratic Socialists of America and his long record of hostility toward immigration enforcement.

DHS shuts down Mamdani’s outrage act

Officials at the Department of Homeland Security were quick to push back.

A spokeswoman for Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, Tricia McLaughlin, made the administration’s position unmistakably clear.

“He had no legal right to be in the United States,” McLaughlin stated.

She added, “Under Secretary Noem, criminal illegal aliens are not welcome in the United States. If you come to our country illegally and break our law, we will find you, and we will arrest you.”

Those facts did not stop New York Democrats from demanding Bohorquez’s immediate release.

City officials demand release despite clear violations

City Council Speaker Julie Menin held an emergency press conference insisting that Bohorquez had been “cleared to remain in the U.S. until October 2026” and claimed he was “doing everything right.”

That assertion collapses under even minimal scrutiny.

Bohorquez overstayed his visa for nearly a decade. He worked illegally for a city government. He had an arrest for assault. Yet city leaders want the public to believe nothing went wrong.

The real scandal is how he was hired at all.

Was his work authorization ever verified? Was a background check conducted? These questions expose how sanctuary city policies create loopholes that allow illegal aliens to slip into sensitive government jobs without accountability.

Letitia James joins the defense

New York Attorney General Letitia James added fuel to the fire by backing calls for Bohorquez’s release.

“We will not stand for attacks on our city, its public servants, and its residents,” James wrote on X.

James, who famously built her political brand attacking President Donald Trump, now finds herself defending an illegal alien who violated federal law and took a taxpayer-funded job that should have gone to a lawful worker.

Sanctuary policies and deadly consequences

New York City is one of dozens of sanctuary jurisdictions that refuse to cooperate with ICE. These policies block detainer requests, restrict jail access, and limit information sharing with federal authorities.

Between 2021 and 2024, sanctuary cities released more than 22,000 deportable criminal aliens without notifying ICE.

One of them was Jose Antonio Ibarra, an illegal alien who murdered nursing student Laken Riley in Georgia in 2024 after being released by New York authorities.

California has reported similar outcomes, with hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens linked to millions of arrests statewide.

The pattern is clear. When politicians prioritize ideology over enforcement, innocent people pay the price.

Mamdani’s radical agenda meets reality

Mamdani campaigned on one of the most extreme platforms New York City has ever seen. His promises included free public transit, rent freezes, city-run grocery stores, a $30 minimum wage, and universal childcare funded by massive tax hikes.

He was publicly sworn in by Bernie Sanders, pledging to govern as a democratic socialist.

Less than two weeks later, he ran headfirst into a hard truth.

Federal immigration law still applies, even in deep-blue cities.

ICE has the authority to enforce it. And city governments are not immune when they hire illegal workers and then cry foul after arrests occur.

Bohorquez remains in ICE custody in Manhattan.

If Mamdani continues to shield illegal immigration, more clashes with federal authorities are inevitable.

Because enforcing the law is not “an assault on democracy.”

It is the job Americans demanded when they returned Trump to office in a landslide.
