The Trump administration has sharply escalated its showdown with Minnesota’s top Democrat leaders, and the latest disclosure from the Department of Homeland Security is setting off alarm bells nationwide.
Federal officials say Minnesota’s leadership has been quietly releasing criminal illegal aliens back onto the streets instead of turning them over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement. And according to DHS, the paper trail leaves little room for denial.
At the center of the controversy is Tim Walz, whose administration now finds itself facing direct accusations from Washington over a growing sanctuary-style loophole that DHS says is putting American lives at risk.

DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin confirmed that federal authorities are demanding Minnesota honor ICE detainers for more than 1,300 criminal illegal aliens currently held in state and local custody.
