A massive public fraud scandal in Minnesota is exploding back into the national spotlight after an independent journalist did what legacy media refused to do. He went on the ground and looked for answers.

At the center of the scandal sits the infamous Feeding Our Future case. Federal prosecutors charged dozens of individuals with stealing at least $250 million from a federal child nutrition program. Authorities say fake nonprofits billed the government for millions of meals that were never served. Some of that money was allegedly sent overseas, including to extremist groups such as Al-Shabaab.
