The battle against cancer doesn’t just drain the person diagnosed — it tears through families, routines, and everything that once felt stable. But for one legendary broadcaster, strength came from the most unexpected place: two simple words from the woman who refused to let him quit.
Back in 2015, long-time TV personality and former Entertainment Tonight host John Tesh faced a nightmare no one can prepare for. Doctors stunned him with a diagnosis of stage 3 prostate cancer, a rare and aggressive form that evaded detection because it didn’t produce the usual PSA markers. They told him bluntly there would be no operation — and that he should start putting his affairs in order.
At just 63 years old, physicians gave him a mere year and a half.
“I just was like, ‘OK, this is over.’ And so, there was some tears. It’s like getting a brick in the face,” Tesh told Good Morning America.
