Democrats may be preparing to unleash yet another round of chaos on Washington, and one member of their own caucus just tipped his hand on national television. After weeks of political theater surrounding the historic 43-day government shutdown, a senior House Democrat now appears to be signaling that the far-left is gearing up for a second shutdown showdown the moment they get another chance.
Rep. Stephen Lynch of Massachusetts, speaking to CNN’s Omar Jimenez, openly vented frustration over how the last standoff ended. He didn’t just complain. He hinted at the possibility that Democrats could try to force the government into another shutdown once the short-term funding bill expires in January. For a party desperate to blunt President Donald Trump’s momentum, the message was unmistakable.
According to RNC Research, which posted the CNN clip to X, Lynch “is ‘furious’ that the government reopened and suggests the Democrats will shut down the government again in January.”
That alone should alarm every taxpayer who remembers the economic and national-security damage caused by the shutdown that stretched from late September into mid-November.
