The pressure is rising in South America — and President Donald Trump now has fresh military options in hand.

According to a new CBS report, Pentagon officials briefed the President on updated operational plans targeting Venezuela’s narco-terror networks. The report cites unnamed sources but claims the briefing included scenarios involving direct strikes on land inside the country.
This comes at a moment when the Trump administration is turning up the heat on Venezuela’s criminal networks, foreign terror groups, and the brutal Maduro regime that shelters them.
Top National Security Officials Huddle With Trump
The high-level briefing reportedly included Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, Joint Chiefs Chairman Dan Caine, and senior defense leaders. CIA Director Tulsi Gabbard and Secretary of State Marco Rubio were abroad at the time and did not attend.
The timing raised eyebrows across Washington, coming just 24 hours after the U.S. Navy deployed the massive USS Gerald Ford carrier strike group off the Venezuelan coastline — a clear signal that Trump is preparing to enforce his red lines.
