Johnson Caught Them in the ACT—This Is BAD!

House Speaker Mike Johnson is calling out Democrats for slipping what he calls a “poison pill” into government funding legislation — a move he says threatens to keep healthcare costs sky-high while funneling money to big insurance companies.

During a Monday interview on Newsmax, Johnson said that once the current government shutdown standoff ends, House Republicans plan to focus on tackling America’s exploding healthcare costs.

The House already passed a short-term funding bill in September that would keep the government running through November 21. But that plan immediately ran into resistance in the Democrat-controlled Senate over one key issue: pandemic-era subsidies tied to the Affordable Care Act. Those subsidies, which Democrats expanded during COVID, are set to expire at the end of the year — and liberals want them made permanent.

But he didn’t mince words about what happened to Republican-backed healthcare reforms buried inside their original “One Big Beautiful Bill Act.”
