New York City parents are hitting the panic button after the shocking election of far-left Democrat Zohran Mamdani as the city’s next mayor — and many are already packing their bags.
According to elite school placement consultant Christopher Rim, the calls started pouring in immediately after the Associated Press projected Mamdani’s win. Rim, who runs Command Education, said the reaction among high-income parents has been nothing short of chaos.
“Within the first 30 minutes of AP announcing Mamdani’s victory, I got three messages from families looking to move,” Rim told The Post. Since that moment, Rim said he’s heard from at least 23 different clients — all desperate to get their children out of the city’s schools and into private institutions elsewhere.
For some parents, the exodus began even before Election Day. “Over the summer, I started hearing families say, ‘I don’t know what we are going to do if this guy wins,’” Rim explained. Six of his clients, he added, didn’t wait to find out. They packed up and moved months ago to quiet Connecticut communities like Greenwich, Darien, and Riverside. “They were like, ‘He’s going to win, and there’s no reason [to wait],’” Rim recalled.
