ABC’s The View is spiraling once again — and this time, Whoopi Goldberg’s outburst may have landed her show right back under the microscope of ABC’s nervous legal team.
The daytime talk show, infamous for its liberal rants and anti-Trump tirades, is becoming a legal minefield for its parent company. After Disney was forced to pay former President Donald Trump a $15 million settlement over false on-air claims from another ABC program, the network’s attorneys are cracking down hard — and the co-hosts of The View are feeling the heat.
Behind the scenes, ABC executives are reportedly fed up. Lawyers are now monitoring nearly every sentence uttered on The View, desperate to prevent another costly lawsuit.
According to reports, the show has already been forced to issue 36 legal disclaimers in 2024 alone — a staggering number for a single talk show. Even co-host Sunny Hostin has had to publicly read correction after correction about Trump’s administration picks because of inaccurate claims made on-air.
