Inside that room, agents discovered not only Comey’s note but also the original CIA referral dated September 7, 2016 — a document warning that Clinton’s team intended to “tie Trump to Russia.” Investigators say the vault hadn’t been accessed in years until a “sudden burst of activity” occurred around Donald Trump’s 2025 inauguration.
The court filings allege that the materials were intentionally buried by FBI insiders seeking to hide evidence connected to both the Clinton and Trump election-year probes.
Comey himself has stayed silent, declining to comment through his publisher, Mysterious Press.
Evidence of a Cover-Up
The case against Comey is already explosive. A grand jury in Alexandria, Virginia, indicted him on September 25 for making false statements and obstruction of justice.
One newly filed exhibit shows a July 21, 2025 request from the FBI’s public corruption unit calling for an internal investigation into bureau personnel who “concealed or removed” key records. That same referral stated the CIA alert — once presumed missing — had first been stashed in a closet near Comey’s office before being moved to the secret vault.
The revelations directly contradict Comey’s own sworn testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee on September 30, 2020, when he claimed, “It doesn’t ring any bells with me.”
Intelligence Files Confirm Clinton Plan
The so-called “Clinton plan intelligence” first reached public attention in 2020, when then-DNI John Ratcliffe declassified it. Ratcliffe — now CIA Director — revealed that U.S. intelligence learned in July 2016 that Russian operatives believed Clinton had personally “approved a scheme to smear Trump by tying him to Moscow’s election meddling.”
In July 2025, newly declassified files by DNI Tulsi Gabbard painted an even darker picture. Those documents indicated that Russian intelligence believed top Democratic leaders, including Barack Obama, were “extraordinarily alarm[ed]” over Hillary Clinton’s deteriorating health and feared it could “seriously impact her chances.”
According to the same intelligence report, Russian analysts described Clinton as suffering from “intensified psycho-emotional problems, including uncontrolled fits of anger, aggression, and cheerfulness.” They added that she relied on “heavy tranquilizers” and battled “Type 2 diabetes, ischemic heart disease, deep vein thrombosis and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.”
Crossfire Hurricane Documents Found in Burn Bags
Perhaps most damning of all, investigators uncovered five burn bags inside Room 9582 stuffed with hundreds of pages tied to Crossfire Hurricane — the FBI’s infamous 2016 Trump-Russia probe.
FBI Director Kash Patel, appointed under the Trump administration, first confirmed the existence of the hidden trove in June 2025 and has since declassified parts of it, including a classified appendix to the 2016 Durham report.
The findings suggest a years-long effort within the Bureau to conceal evidence of misconduct — a scandal that, if proven true, would dwarf anything seen since Watergate.
The Fallout Begins
The Justice Department now faces growing pressure from lawmakers to release every document tied to the Comey note and the Clinton plan. Republican leaders are already calling for full public disclosure, warning that the American people deserve to know “how deep the corruption really ran.”
This latest twist could reopen old wounds from 2016 — but this time, the truth may finally be emerging from the vaults of the very agency that tried to bury it.
