Airline CEOs Just TORCHED the Democrats!

America’s top airline executives are putting Senate Democrats on blast — demanding they stop holding the country hostage over their political wish list and pass a clean funding bill to reopen the government.

The shutdown, now in its 34th day, has left air traffic controllers working without pay and is rapidly approaching the longest in U.S. history. Industry leaders warn that continued gridlock could jeopardize not only flight safety but the entire U.S. travel system during the busy holiday season.

Airlines Turn Up the Heat on Schumer and Senate Democrats

The pressure campaign is aimed squarely at Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY), whose caucus has repeatedly voted down a temporary “clean” continuing resolution (CR) that would fund the government through late November. Democrats have blocked the measure more than a dozen times, insisting on tying it to unrelated policy riders like the extension of Obama-era Affordable Care Act subsidies.

United Airlines CEO Scott Kirby didn’t mince words: “It is time to pass a clean CR.” Kirby warned that the shutdown has already shuttered key federal agencies, forcing vital aviation staff to work without pay and threatening flight safety and the economy.
