Yet for Democrats and their judicial allies, logic appears to take a backseat to power.
Appointed by former President Bill Clinton in 1997, Kollar-Kotelly has built a long record of rulings that favor liberal causes. Beyond her courtroom duties, she also serves as an adjunct professor at Georgetown University School of Medicine, teaching about “mental health and the law.” She even chairs the Board of the Art Trust for the Superior Court—a résumé that fits perfectly within Washington’s elite progressive circles.
This is not her first time targeting Trump’s efforts to secure elections. Back in April, she partially blocked an executive order requiring proof of citizenship on federal voter forms—another setback to the administration’s mission to restore confidence in America’s voting process.
Her bias has been on display in other high-profile cases as well. In 2024, Kollar-Kotelly sentenced a 76-year-old pro-life activist, Paulette Harlow, to two years in prison for peacefully protesting outside an abortion clinic in 2020. “According to Catholic News Agency, Harlow has significant health issues. Her husband feared she may die in prison.” Instead of compassion, the judge reportedly mocked the elderly woman in court.
The contrast couldn’t be clearer. While violent criminals and rioters are often released with minimal punishment, peaceful Christian demonstrators are treated as enemies of the state.
Kollar-Kotelly’s latest ruling against Trump’s voter integrity initiative represents more than a legal setback—it’s a symbol of how deeply entrenched the political establishment has become in undermining the will of the American people.
