US President Donald Trump issued a forceful ultimatum to Nigeria. He warned that if the Nigerian government fails to halt the slaughter of Christians, the United States will halt all aid and may “go into that now disgraced country, ‘guns-a-blazing,’ to completely wipe out the Islamic Terrorists who are committing these horrible atrocities.”

In a Truth Social post Trump wrote: “I am hereby instructing our Department of War to prepare for possible action. If we attack, it will be fast, vicious, and sweet, just like the terrorist thugs attack our CHERISHED Christians! WARNING: THE NIGERIAN GOVERNMENT BETTER MOVE FAST!”
The threat comes amid mounting frustration in Washington over Nigeria’s growing wave of attacks on Christian communities by extremist groups. US Rep. Riley Moore of West Virginia said Nigerian Christians are enduring “a systematic campaign of persecution by Islamic terrorist organizations.”
Moore cited figures stating “there have been 7,000 Christians murdered this year, that’s 35 a day are killed in Nigeria just for professing their faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.” He added, “The government in Nigeria is complicit in the suffering of our brothers and sisters in Christ.” He also claimed “50,000 to 100,000 murdered Christians in Nigeria. This is an astounding number nobody is talking about. It’s genocidal numbers. And at the same period, we have had over 19,000 churches attacked or destroyed.”
