The U.S. Senate on Tuesday voted 52-48 to repeal President Trump’s 50% tariffs on Brazilian imports, a move conservatives are calling yet another attempt by Washington’s political class to sabotage the America First trade agenda.
Despite the dramatic vote, the effort was ultimately meaningless. House Speaker Mike Johnson has already said he will not bring the measure to the floor for a vote, making the Senate’s decision nothing more than a symbolic gesture designed to score political points. Even if the measure reached the White House, President Trump would never sign it into law.
Still, the vote revealed something deeply troubling about the state of the Republican Party. Five Republican senators—Rand Paul (KY), Thom Tillis (NC), Susan Collins (ME), Lisa Murkowski (AK), and Mitch McConnell (KY)—joined Democrats to undercut Trump’s effort to protect American manufacturing from unfair trade practices. These same names have become synonymous with establishment politics, and their votes once again demonstrate how willing they are to side with Democrats rather than defend American workers.
This isn’t the first time these so-called “moderate” Republicans have turned on Trump’s trade strategy. Earlier this year, the Senate voted to scrap Trump’s tariffs on Canadian imports. RINOs Murkowski, Collins, McConnell, and Paul all voted with Democrats then, too—showing a clear pattern of siding with globalists over the American middle class.

These 5 Rino’s need to be voted out! There not helping the Trump administration at all…. We need term limits!! McConnell should have been gone a long time ago! They vote against President Trump because they don’t like him! They don’t care about anyone but themselves!
