A new bombshell revelation has exposed a major rift inside the Democratic Party — one that pits two of its biggest power players against each other.
According to a new book by ABC News correspondent Jonathan Karl, former President Barack Obama was furious when former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi jumped the gun and endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris just hours after Joe Biden announced he would not seek re-election.
Pelosi’s Rush to Crown Harris
Pelosi wasted no time praising Harris as “brilliantly astute” and said she had “full confidence” in her ability to defeat Donald Trump. Her endorsement came less than 24 hours after Biden’s withdrawal — and it reportedly caught Obama completely off guard.
Karl’s book, Retribution, reveals that Obama had previously urged top Democrats to hold off on any endorsements until a proper “process” could unfold. The goal, sources said, was to avoid the appearance of simply “anointing” Harris as the nominee without a primary fight.
