Brutal Fallout: Dems’ Shutdown Backfires Hard

House Republicans are sending a clear message to Washington: their movement is far from slowing down. As the government shutdown drags into its third week, GOP fundraising is soaring to unprecedented levels, giving conservatives a massive financial edge heading into the 2026 midterm cycle.

According to fresh fundraising figures, House Republicans pulled in nearly $24 million between July and September, a stunning amount for a non-election year. What’s even more striking is that $13.95 million of that came in September alone, right as the GOP prepared for a bruising political showdown over federal spending.

This surge comes during one of the most tense standoffs Washington has seen in years — a 20-day government shutdown fueled by sharp divisions over how taxpayer dollars should be spent. While Democrats have leaned on scare tactics and blame games, Republicans have tapped into a massive wave of grassroots support.

The National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) reported that September’s fundraising total marks its best non-election-year September in history — a whopping 50% increase compared to the same period last year. In total, the NRCC now holds $46 million in cash on hand and has raked in an eye-popping $93 million so far in 2025, according to a Fox News report.
