New York City’s final mayoral debate was a trainwreck from start to finish. The audience expected heated exchanges, but what they got instead was a revealing glimpse into just how radical Zohran Mamdani really is.

Three candidates shared the stage: Democrat frontrunner Assemblyman Zohran Mamdani, disgraced former Governor Andrew Cuomo running as an independent, and Republican activist Curtis Sliwa. None had a stellar night—but Mamdani’s comments stood out as the most alarming of all.
Sliwa and Cuomo Spar, But Mamdani’s Words Raise Eyebrows
Sliwa, the outspoken Guardian Angels founder, showed his lack of polish by accidentally calling former New York Governor George Pataki his “favorite president.” When reminded Pataki was never president, he awkwardly switched to Ronald Reagan. Cuomo, meanwhile, tried flexing political muscle by claiming he could keep President Donald Trump from sending the National Guard into New York City.
“You think you’re the toughest guy alive,” Sliwa shot back. “You lost your own primary.”
It was a lively jab, but the real story came later—when Mamdani made a comment that said more about his worldview than any campaign speech ever could.
