He even named names – former FBI Director James Comey and New York Attorney General Letitia James – demanding accountability.
That was enough to send Schumer into full meltdown mode.
“I think it’s a real threat to democracy, Dana,” Schumer told CNN’s Dana Bash. “The Justice Department has always been a very, very strong civil service, no matter who was in charge, a Democrat or Republican. They went after law violators without fear or favor.”
Schumer didn’t stop there. He warned Trump was “turning it into an instrument that goes after his enemies, whether they’re guilty or not, and most of them are not guilty at all.”
And then came the fearmongering: “This is the path to a dictatorship. That’s what dictatorships do.”
Over on ABC’s This Week, Senator Chris Murphy joined the panic parade, warning that targeting political enemies would “come back and boomerang at some point if this becomes the norm.”
“This is one of the most dangerous moments America has ever faced,” Murphy said. “We are quickly turning into a banana republic.”
Both men painted themselves as heroic defenders of justice and democracy. But here’s the problem: their record tells a very different story.
When Biden’s DOJ spent four years acting like the Democrat Party’s private police force, Schumer never made a peep.
The same DOJ he now claims “went after law violators without fear or favor” was busy raiding Mar-a-Lago over classified documents – while Biden’s own garage was stuffed with them.
They indicted Trump five times on flimsy charges that many legal experts called politically motivated.
They targeted parents at school board meetings, labeled them domestic terrorists, went after pro-life activists with armed raids, and even investigated traditional Catholics as extremists.
Where was Schumer’s concern about “threats to democracy” then? Nowhere.
The truth is obvious: Democrats loved weaponizing the DOJ when it worked for them. Now that Trump is back and might finally hold people accountable, they’re panicking.
Murphy’s “boomerang” comment gave the game away. He knows Democrats abused the system for years – and now the tables have turned.
Schumer isn’t protecting democracy. He’s protecting the corrupt status quo that shielded Democrats and punished conservatives.
The American people see it. They’re tired of the two-tiered justice system. They want equal treatment under the law.
Schumer’s sudden meltdown proves he knows what’s coming – and it terrifies him.
