The assassination of Charlie Kirk on September 10 didn’t just shock the conservative movement — it ripped open a wound across the nation. The 31-year-old Turning Point USA founder was murdered by a sniper while speaking at Utah Valley University, and Americans demanded an end to political violence.
But while many called for unity, some Democrats chose to double down on venom. And golf legend Phil Mickelson wasn’t about to let it slide.
Democrats Talk Unity, Then Show Their True Colors
After Kirk’s death, leaders from both parties issued boilerplate statements condemning violence. But their actions told another story.
Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) went on CNN and declared that Charlie Kirk’s legacy belonged in the “dustbin of history.” She said it just days after he was assassinated for his beliefs.
Not to be outdone, Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) claimed Republicans could be accurately compared to Adolf Hitler. She insisted it was “accurate language” and accused the GOP of trying to “chill speech.”
