An absolutely shocking scene unfolded on a Michigan football field last week when a 15-year-old player was violently slammed to the ground during a junior varsity game, leaving him with a broken spine. Even more disturbing? No immediate disciplinary action was taken against the player responsible.
The incident happened in Berrien County during a matchup between the Kalamazoo Central Maroon Giants and the Lakeshore Lancers. What should have been a regular high school football game instead turned into a nightmare when tempers flared and one player crossed a line no athlete should ever cross.
During the third quarter, cameras caught a Kalamazoo Central lineman throwing his entire body weight onto a defender from Lakeshore in what many are calling a deliberate and brutal attack. The victim, only 15 years old, collapsed in obvious pain. The disturbing footage quickly spread online, sparking outrage among parents, fans, and the local community.
