In a town where marriages fall apart faster than box office bombs, Jay Leno just did something that left Hollywood completely stunned.
While most celebrities would’ve hired lawyers and quietly moved on, the 75-year-old comedy legend made the choice to stand by his wife, proving he still takes those wedding vows seriously.
Standing By His Wife of 45 Years
Jay and Mavis Leno have been married for nearly half a century — an eternity in Hollywood years. Instead of treating marriage like a contract with an expiration date, Leno is showing what “in sickness and in health” really looks like.
Mavis, 79, is fighting advanced dementia. Rather than ship her off to a high-end care facility, the former Tonight Show host stepped up as her full-time caregiver.
“My wife’s got some problems, so it’s just her and I. But it’s always been her and I for the last 45 years anyway, so it’s fine. I enjoy taking care of her. It’s fun,” Leno told People magazine.
