The assassination of Charlie Kirk is looking less like the work of a lone wolf and more like a coordinated plot.
FBI Director Kash Patel returned to Capitol Hill Tuesday and stunned lawmakers with his revelation that a sprawling network of individuals may have been tied to the murder of the 31-year-old Turning Point USA founder.
Patel’s testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee built upon his earlier Fox News interview, where he alleged that more than 20 people may have been involved in a secret online chat connected to suspect Tyler Robinson, 22.
According to Patel, Robinson openly admitted in a Discord group that he was the one who shot Kirk. “Hey guys, I have bad news for you all. It was me at UVU yesterday. im sorry for all of this,” read the chilling message believed to have come from Robinson’s account.
The FBI chief confirmed to Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) that his agents are now aggressively investigating connections between Robinson and the others in the chatroom. “We’ve conducted investigations and interrogations with local law enforcement, and we’re continuing to do that because those closest to the suspect are going to hopefully know the most about the suspect, his beliefs, and his ideology,” Patel explained.
