While Americans were told masks were about “following the science,” a new study shows the real legacy of Fauci’s obsession: a toxic environmental disaster that will last for centuries.
The Numbers No One Wants to Talk About
Between December 2019 and May 2021, researchers estimate that a staggering 1.2 trillion disposable masks were thrown away worldwide. That’s trillion—with a “T.” Each one of those masks is made of polypropylene plastic, which takes about 450 years to break down. In other words, the masks your children were forced to wear in school will still be polluting the planet long after your great-great-grandchildren are gone.
Even “Clean” Masks Were Toxic
Scientists at Coventry University tested what happens when these masks sit in water—just like they do in landfills and oceans. They placed brand new masks in purified water for 24 hours, and the results were chilling. Even masks that had never been worn leaked microplastics and toxic chemicals. Shockingly, the pricier filtered masks released three to four times more contaminants than standard surgical masks.
