She went further, blasting Trump’s deployment of the National Guard and federal agents to secure Washington, D.C.
“I think it has been terrible,” Crockett complained.
But she didn’t stop there.
“How is it that we have a government that is hostile towards its people? ‘Cause that’s what it is. Like, I mean, we are in the midst of a hostile government takeover, and it is our government that is like, bringing the hostility,” she added.
So in Crockett’s world, stopping criminals equals “government hostility.” You can’t make this up.
Americans and Law Enforcement Respond
The backlash was swift and fierce. Journalist Nick Sortor shared the clip on X with a blunt takedown:
“WTF?! Jasmine Crockett: ‘Law enforcement isn’t to PREVENT crime! Law enforcement solves crime, okay? That is what they are supposed to do.’ Just when I thought Democrats couldn’t get any dumber, JASMINE CROCKETT opens her mouth again.”
Others joined in. Scientist and author Matt Van Swol didn’t mince words:
“Truly one of the dumbest statements ever made by anyone on planet earth,” he wrote.
But the most important pushback came from the people on the front lines—real police officers.
Deon Joseph, a veteran cop and law enforcement consultant, set the record straight.
“Jasmine Crockett is wrong. It is our job to prevent crime. We just need more support. I didn’t sign up to just wait for people to be victimized,” Joseph posted.
That’s the difference between politicians who posture about policing and the men and women who actually keep neighborhoods safe.
The Bigger Picture
This isn’t just one foolish congresswoman running her mouth. It’s the natural outcome of Democrat policies for years.
They’ve defunded police departments. They’ve installed soft-on-crime prosecutors. They’ve excused criminals while demonizing law enforcement.
The result? Cities drowning in violence. Families afraid to walk outside. Small businesses ransacked.
Now we know why. Democrats don’t want prevention. They want crime, chaos, and fear—because it justifies more government power.
Think about what Crockett’s logic really means. Your daughter gets mugged walking to her car? Police will “solve” it later. Your store gets robbed again this month? Don’t worry, someone will file a report. Your elderly neighbor gets beaten by a thug who knows there are no consequences? At least officers can investigate afterward.
That’s not public safety. That’s surrender.
The Mask Slips
Crockett’s comments ripped away the talking points and revealed the truth. Democrats don’t want police as guardians—they want them as janitors, cleaning up after the wreckage.
For hardworking Americans who pay taxes, obey the law, and just want to live in peace, that’s infuriating.
The mask is off. Crockett said the quiet part out loud. And now voters can see exactly what Democrats really believe about policing.
