College sports once symbolized discipline, teamwork, and the pursuit of excellence. They were supposed to highlight the grit and determination of young Americans preparing to become leaders. But a shocking case out of Kentucky shows just how far we’ve strayed from those values.

The Stunning Arrest That No One Saw Coming
On the outside, 21-year-old Laken Snelling looked like the perfect student-athlete. A senior at the University of Kentucky, she was part of the school’s STUNT team — a program that pushes athletes to perform at the highest level in competitive cheer and acrobatics.
Teammates described the group as a family, bound together by long hours of training and sacrifice. But that “family” bond apparently missed a devastating secret.
Police say they arrested Snelling Sunday night after discovering a dead newborn baby boy wrapped in a towel, stuffed inside a trash bag, and hidden in her dorm closet.
The Fayette County Coroner performed an autopsy on Wednesday, but results were “inconclusive.” Officials say further microscopic testing will be required.
