The Biden-era COVID bureaucracy is finally cracking — and the fallout is hitting the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
Dr. Demetre Daskalakis, once hailed as Joe Biden’s handpicked deputy in the White House’s monkeypox response team, abruptly resigned this week. His departure landed only hours after another shake-up at the CDC — the removal of Director Susan Monarez.
But the timing is no coincidence. Daskalakis walked out the very same day Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. rolled out sweeping reforms that officially ended the Biden administration’s vaccine emergency powers.
