The investigation revealed that Bailey-Corsey had been making similar threats as far back as June 22. Using open-source methods, authorities tracked down his identity by matching usernames and profile images. His accounts, reportedly named “enigmagistus” and “enigmagistis,” contained no public signs of political allegiance—though given the nature of his rants, he clearly had strong feelings about what he believed to be a deep-rooted conspiracy.
Bailey-Corsey was interviewed by authorities on July 17. During that meeting, investigators say he admitted to making the threats. He now faces a federal charge of transmitting an interstate threat, a serious offense that could carry significant prison time.
The DOJ and FBI have repeatedly claimed there is no Epstein “client list” being hidden from the public. In their official conclusion, Epstein died by suicide in a Manhattan jail cell in August 2019—though that explanation has sparked intense backlash and disbelief from both the public and figures across the political spectrum.
While no actual names were released by Bailey-Corsey or federal prosecutors in the complaint, the episode has reinvigorated public frustration over the lack of transparency surrounding the Epstein case. Many Americans continue to question how a man with such extensive connections to high-profile individuals could evade serious scrutiny until it was too late.
This case raises larger questions: Why are online threats taken seriously when they expose uncomfortable political connections, but ignored when they come from violent extremists attacking churches, conservative rallies, or Supreme Court justices?
