While Brennan and Comey have so far stayed silent, refusing to comment on the criminal inquiry, Senator John Kennedy wasted no time calling out what he sees as the rotten core of their conduct. Appearing on Fox News with Harris Faulkner, the Louisiana Republican delivered one of the most unflinching rebukes of the duo yet.
“Well, I know Mr. Comey, and I know Mr. Brennan. Neither one of them, in my opinion, should attempt more than six of the Ten Commandments,” Kennedy said bluntly. “They’re, they’re, they’re not very nice people. They’re not ethical people.”
Kennedy revealed that he had spoken with people who had first-hand experience working alongside Brennan and Comey, and the accounts weren’t flattering.
“I know people who have worked with them closely, and if you talk to people who’ve worked with them closely, those people will tell you that, um, they’re about as, as popular as male pattern baldness,” Kennedy continued.
But the senator didn’t stop there. He tore into what he described as the blinding arrogance and misplaced self-regard that define both men.
“What’s scary about both of them is that they think that they are competent,” Kennedy said. “They’re not. I would hire the guy who salts the fries at McDonald’s before I would hire them.”
Kennedy argued this arrogance is exactly what has poisoned public trust in the intelligence community.
“They think they’re competent, they think they are smarter and more virtuous than the rest of us and they have… they acted on their political beliefs,” he stated.
One of the most glaring examples, Kennedy pointed out, was Brennan’s claim that the Hunter Biden laptop was “Russian disinformation.”
“Brennan, for example, Mr. Brennan, was one of the ones who told the American people that the Hunter Biden laptop wasn’t real, it was Russian disinformation,” Kennedy recalled.
By the time major outlets like the Washington Post and the New York Times confirmed the authenticity of the laptop data, the election was long over, and the damage to public perception was irreversible.
Kennedy then invoked the biting humor of President Lyndon Johnson to illustrate just how inflated Brennan and Comey’s egos had become.
“They are like so many in Washington, Harris, they’re so arrogant,” Kennedy said. “Lyndon Johnson used to have an expression, he’d say that guy is so arrogant he could strut sitting down. That’s the way Mr. Comey and Mr. Brennan are.”
The senator didn’t mince words about the lasting harm their actions inflicted on America’s most sensitive institutions.
“Those two have done more to destroy the American people’s confidence in the FBI and national intelligence than any two people I can think of,” Kennedy declared.
The roots of this scandal trace back to the Steele dossier—an unverified opposition research file funded by Hillary Clinton’s campaign and the Democratic National Committee. Despite being debunked repeatedly, Brennan and Comey insisted on weaving the dossier into the 2017 intelligence assessment, fueling the collusion narrative that tormented the Trump presidency.
Kennedy made it clear that Brennan and Comey’s reckless, politically motivated tactics contributed enormously to the toxic climate dividing Americans today.
“I really regret we live in a climate like we live in, but I can tell you two people who contributed to that climate, you have already mentioned their names, James Comey and John Brennan,” Kennedy told Faulkner.
Before he wrapped up, Kennedy left no doubt where he stood on the question of accountability.
“They’re just not honest people and if they broke the law, they should be held accountable,” he declared.
With one last stinging verdict, Kennedy summed up his assessment in plain language.
“They’re political hacks,” Kennedy concluded.
For years, Brennan and Comey operated as if they were above the law, certain their media allies would shield them from consequences. But the era of unchallenged impunity appears to be ending. The American public has waited a long time for a reckoning—and if Senator Kennedy has his way, this is only the beginning.
