A fiery on-air clash just ignited one of the biggest rifts yet inside the conservative movement — and this time, the tension played out live between two of its most prominent names: Senator Ted Cruz and Tucker Carlson.
The sparks flew Tuesday when Cruz, the Republican Senator from Texas, sat down for what was billed as a deep-dive interview with former Fox News icon Tucker Carlson. What began as a conversation about U.S. strategy in the Middle East quickly devolved into a testy confrontation over Iran, foreign intervention, and who really understands what’s at stake.
Carlson, who has repeatedly criticized American involvement in foreign wars, zeroed in on Cruz’s support for the idea of confronting the Iranian regime — especially in the context of defending Israel. Carlson has also accused President Trump of indirectly greenlighting Israeli strikes by supplying weapons, arguing that, “sustained U.S. arms support made America morally responsible for the attack.”
Cruz, on the other hand, stood firmly in Trump’s camp, warning that the Iranian regime has made threats against both America and Israel. He’s long been an advocate for aggressive deterrence. “If Iran strikes our troops, they better be prepared for overwhelming consequences,” Cruz said in previous remarks.
