In a horrific and senseless act of violence, a beloved South Florida hairstylist was brutally murdered in the early hours of the morning inside the parking garage of a luxury apartment complex. The deadly assault, which also left another man seriously injured, has left the local community in shock — and raised disturbing questions about safety, crime, and the increasingly violent state of our cities.
The victim, 27-year-old Hailey Hosford, was a well-known figure in Broward County. Known for her beauty, talent, and entrepreneurial spirit, Hosford had built a loyal following in the hairstyling world. Her tragic death came just after 1:40 a.m. last Wednesday, when she pulled her Mercedes-Benz into the garage at The Retreat at Sawgrass Village in Sunrise, Florida.
According to law enforcement and chilling surveillance footage, a man armed with a steak knife — later identified as 21-year-old Jackson Julian Sagesse — approached her vehicle with deadly intent.
Hosford reportedly tried to evade the attacker by climbing into the back seat of her car. But Sagesse ripped open the door and viciously stabbed her multiple times. Authorities say she was targeted in a random and brutal assault that ended her life in moments.
