If that wasn’t disturbing enough, Andrews said the snake wasn’t just floating there — it was alive and moving. “It was moving. It started wrapping around my straw,” she recalled.
The situation quickly escalated as Andrews, horrified, alerted the staff. One employee reportedly tried to fish the snake out with a stick, but their efforts were useless.
To the rescue came another customer — a brave patron who grabbed the snake barehanded and carried it outside. Meanwhile, Andrews was left shaking and traumatized.
“I kept saying please don’t let it go in my purse,” she said. “I left shaking, I was traumatized.”
Incredibly, the restaurant’s solution wasn’t much comfort. They offered to move her to a booth. Unsurprisingly, Andrews declined and chose to leave immediately, worried that there could be more snakes slithering around the restaurant.
“If that was the baby — I fear… is the mom there?” she said, highlighting a very real concern.
According to ABC 8 News, the restaurant did comp Andrews’ bill, but the experience left her vowing not to dine out again anytime soon.
What’s even more shocking is the restaurant owner’s casual reaction. When asked how he planned to prevent another reptilian surprise, his response was simply, “Nothing.”
That’s right. Despite a live snake dropping into a customer’s drink, the owner brushed it off as a one-time fluke. He suggested the snake may have entered the building through the air conditioning system — an unsettling thought for any future diner.
