Yet instead of condemning this stunning breach of the law, Democrat leaders are rushing to defend her — and using the case to build a dangerous precedent.
One of the top anti-Trump warriors, Maryland Congressman Jamie Raskin, is leading the charge. You might remember Raskin as a key player in the January 6 impeachment circus and the partisan committee witch hunt.
Now, appearing on MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow show, Raskin laid it all out. He boasted that this situation sets a roadmap for Democrats to one day round up and arrest Trump officials en masse.
Raskin even invoked rogue Obama-appointed Judge James Boasberg, who is now paving the way for this legal onslaught. “I regard it very much within the prism of what we’ve been dealing with over the last month, which is an intense assault on judicial independence. They have been disobeying federal court orders systematically. They have incurred criminal contempt findings in the courtroom of Judge Boasberg, a conservative Republican, a judge,” Raskin said.
Conservative Republican? Hardly. Boasberg made a career out of blocking Trump’s policies with lawless nationwide injunctions, even halting deportations of violent illegal alien gang members. He once ordered planes carrying deportees mid-flight to turn around — a command the Trump administration said was beyond his authority.
Ultimately, the Supreme Court sided against Boasberg, ruling he had no jurisdiction over those flights. But that hasn’t slowed the left’s crusade one bit.
Despite the courts smacking down his overreach, Boasberg continues pushing contempt charges, giving Raskin and company the legal ammo they need.
Raskin then went even further, falsely accusing Trump’s team of mass lawlessness, citing the endless stream of activist-judge injunctions. “They have been demanding the impeachment of judges who rule against the lawlessness of the Trump administration. There are now more than 90 preliminary injunctions and temporary restraining orders against the chaos that’s been unleashed on the country by the Trump administration,” Raskin claimed.
Even CNN’s Elie Honig, no friend to Trump, admitted the charges against Dugan are serious. But Raskin and the left don’t care. They see this as a golden opportunity.

In fact, Raskin spelled it out: if Democrats win back the White House in 2028, they could use these legal tricks to arrest Trump officials for enforcing immigration law.
“Now they’re arresting judges, and the first felony criminal charge brought against Judge Hannah Dugan in Wisconsin is interfering with a legal proceeding, which is essentially what they’ve been doing all along,” Raskin bragged. He continued, “What Judge Boasberg is about to hold them in criminal contempt for and has found that there is probable cause for criminal contempt is that they deliberately ignored and defied his order not to take off in those airplanes headed for El Salvador and not turning the airplanes around.”
The threat is clear: if radicals like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez or another far-left Democrat capture the presidency, they could unleash mass arrests against anyone connected to Trump’s immigration crackdown.
“So on the logic of this arrest of Judge Dugan, all of the people in the Trump Administration who participated in defying that order by Judge Boasberg themselves could be arrested for interfering with a legal proceeding and perhaps other criminal charges like kidnapping,” Raskin warned.
This is no longer politics as usual — it’s lawfare designed to destroy President Trump and everyone who dared to serve him.
