According to Caldwell, Washington elites from both parties share a twisted obsession with launching another Middle East conflict.
“I think there clearly is a very strong coalition within the United States that wants to see another war in the Middle East,” Caldwell warned. “And it crosses both parties.”
History Repeats Itself?
Carlson, a student of political history, sees disturbing parallels between the current push for war and the disastrous Iraq invasion under George W. Bush.
The Iraq War destroyed Bush’s presidency and handed Democrats sweeping victories in 2006 and 2008. Barack Obama famously rode a wave of anti-war sentiment to the White House.
Carlson believes history could repeat itself — and this time, Trump could be the target.
“I’m not involved at all, I’m just watching, but it seems like the fastest way to derail the whole project—the Trump administration and the United States of America—is a war with Iran,” Carlson said.
A bloody new conflict would sap Trump’s energy and hijack his America First reforms, Tucker argued — including immigration enforcement, dismantling woke ideology, and renegotiating globalist trade deals.
“That’s why I’ve been watching it as carefully as I can because, again, if you hated Donald Trump and you hated what the administration is doing on immigration, trade, anti-wokeness, whatever, and you wanted to stop it, the first thing you would do is apply pressure to have the US military engage in a war with Iran. That’s my perspective on it, anyway,” Carlson added.
Trump Pulled the Plug on a Dangerous Plot
The scheme to entangle Trump in war nearly succeeded.
Shortly before top Pentagon aides were fired, The New York Times reported that President Trump rejected an Israeli plan to strike Iran’s nuclear sites. The plan, pushed aggressively by Israeli officials, depended on full U.S. military support.

Thankfully, Trump’s team — including Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, and Chief of Staff Susie Wiles — pushed back.
The final straw came when Tulsi Gabbard presented explosive intelligence showing that the Israeli operation would drag America into another endless war.
Realizing the stakes, President Trump killed the plan and pivoted hard toward diplomacy, reopening negotiations with Iran to end their nuclear ambitions peacefully.
The Battle Isn’t Over
