A fellow traveler aboard a JetBlue flight to Las Vegas spotted Ocasio-Cortez relaxing in first class. “Nothing says, ‘Power to the people’ like ignoring voters looking to say hello and reclining in first class while tweeting about income inequality,” the passenger told the New York Post.
But that was just the beginning.
Fox News obtained flight records revealing that Ocasio-Cortez and Sanders chartered a private jet to shuttle them around their West Coast tour. The two socialists flew from Bakersfield to Sacramento and then to Boise aboard a Bombardier Challenger jet operated by Ventura Air Services. This isn’t your run-of-the-mill airplane—it’s marketed as having “one of the widest cabins of any business jet available today” and promises “superior cabin comfort for its passengers.”
According to Ventura Air Services, chartering this jet runs up to a staggering $15,000 per hour.
So much for fighting for the common man.
This jet-setting behavior is particularly galling given Ocasio-Cortez’s signature issue: climate change. She’s the architect of the radical Green New Deal and has frequently called for extreme measures to combat what she calls an existential crisis. But when the rubber meets the runway, she’s flying on one of the worst polluters in aviation.
A study from Transport and Environment found that private jets emit 14 times more carbon per passenger than commercial flights. So while AOC asks Americans to give up meat, gas stoves, and air travel, she’s contributing heavily to the very emissions she claims are killing the planet.
And she’s not shy about scolding others for doing exactly what she’s doing.
“For real, how many private jets do these CEOs need? It is insatiable. It is unacceptable,” Ocasio-Cortez said in 2023. That quote hasn’t aged well.
Her travel partner, Bernie Sanders, isn’t any better. “We will not accept a rigged economy where working people struggle while billionaires become richer,” Sanders declared during one of their rallies. “We have got to create an economy that works for working people, not just Mr. Musk and the billionaire class.”

Bold words—spoken from the comfort of a luxury jet. And let’s not forget, this is the same Bernie Sanders who was called out by Michael Bloomberg in 2020 for being “the best known socialist in the country” while owning three homes.
The irony is hard to ignore. These are the people demanding everyday Americans change their lifestyles, give up affordable energy, and embrace economic sacrifice—all while they enjoy the perks of the elite class they claim to oppose.
Ocasio-Cortez is fast becoming the symbol of socialist hypocrisy: telling Americans to live with less while she lives large.
The mask has slipped—and voters aren’t forgetting.
