Democrats in San Francisco have made a ground-breaking proposal to grant $5 million in debt forgiveness to longterm Black residents of the city. These lawmakers are essentially altering both public policy and societal norms in one decisive move by prioritizing their woke agenda above other urgent problems like homelessness and criminality!
To atone for decades of racial injustice, the San Francisco African American Reparations Advisory Committee suggested an extraordinary payment. The reparations, which are meant to serve as some kind of compensation, aim to atone for years of “systematic repression” perpetrated against the Black population.

Since slavery was not practiced in California, these reparations are intended to “address the public policies explicitly created to subjugate Black people in San Francisco by upholding and expanding the intent and legacy of chattel slavery,” as mentioned in the proposed report’s draft.
“While neither San Francisco, nor California, formally adopted the institution of chattel slavery, the tenets of segregation, white supremacy and systematic repression and exclusion of Black people were codified through legal and extralegal actions, social codes, and judicial enforcement,” the draft says.
The draft explains the committee’s justification for the suggested sum, stating, “A lump sum payment would compensate the affected population for the decades of harms that they have experienced, and will redress the economic and opportunity losses that Black San Franciscans have endured, collectively, as the result of both intentional decisions and unintended harms perpetuated by City policy.”
“Black households are more likely to hold costlier, riskier debt, and are more likely to have outstanding student loan debt,” the draft adds. “When this is combined with lower household incomes, it can create an inescapable cycle of debt. Eliminating this debt gives Black households an opportunity to build wealth.”
The petition further recommends that San Francisco “issue a formal apology for past harms, and commit to making substantial ongoing, systemic and programmatic investments in Black communities to address historical harms.”
If black residents complete the requirements, they will be eligible for a hefty payout. Two requirements must be met in order for a person who was born in the city or immigrated there between 1940 and 1996 and resided there for at least 13 years to be eligible.
A $50 billion price tag is attached to this proposed program, which would provide the resources for up to 10,000 fortunate people. Even though it would be expensive, if approved, this concept would help a lot of poor city people.
The meticulously constructed plan from the group will be presented to Mayor London Breed, the Board of Supervisors of San Francisco, and the Human Rights Commission in June. In this thriving city, the effort is primed to have a big effect!
